Industrial fiber application map across ropes, sheets and reinforcement

Application guidance

Kuraray fibers across different converted constructions

An official application list is the start of a technical review. Suitability depends on the named grade, fiber form, conversion, exposure, specimen and test method.

Two-column application cards

Identify what changes between fiber and finished article

Each context below names the questions that prevent a product-family description from becoming an unsupported finished-product claim.

01

Cement and mortar reinforcement

PVA fiber is officially listed for sprayed mortar or concrete, precast products, premixed mortar and other reinforcement contexts. Review the exact fiber grade, length, dosage, dispersion route, matrix chemistry, mixing sequence, curing and composite test method. Fiber strength alone does not predict crack control, toughness or durability in a particular formulation.

Useful inputs
Grade · cut length · dosage · matrix · dispersion · specimen · method
02

Rope, sling, webbing and cable

VECTRAN official applications include ropes, slings, webbing and cable tension members. Distinguish filament or yarn grade, denier, twist, braid or weave, terminations, bend radius, sustained versus cyclic load, moisture, temperature, UV and chemical exposure. A published fiber value cannot serve as a safe working load or service-life claim for an assembled article.

Useful inputs
Grade · yarn build · termination · load case · exposure · safety method
03

Wet-laid paper, filters and separators

Polyester short-cut fibers are officially described for wet-laid nonwovens, specialty paper, filters and battery-separator contexts. Fineness, cut length, surface treatment, dispersibility, furnish chemistry, basis weight, thermal exposure and sheet formation influence the resulting material. Do not infer pore size, filtration efficiency, electrical behavior or separator safety without the converted specimen and applicable method.

Useful inputs
Resin · fineness · cut length · treatment · furnish · sheet method
04

Outdoor and protective textiles

VECTRAN and selected PVA fiber families have documented textile or protective application directions. Protection is a system result: yarn, weave or knit, coatings, seams, garment coverage, conditioning and the named test all matter. Fiber-level abrasion, cut, heat or flame statements must not be rewritten as “cut-proof,” “fireproof,” or permanently protective finished goods.

Useful inputs
Fiber grade · construction · finish · conditioning · end-use standard · level

Interactive-style checklist

Build an application brief without assuming a service

This checklist organizes an information request. It does not state that Kuraray will perform testing, approve a construction, supply a sample, hold inventory or accept an order through this site.
